Immunity Loving Smoothie

This smoothie is designed for flavor and nutritional uptake for your body.  Nutritional uptake means if you have sensitive digestion or yours is on the mend the ingredients are meant to soothe you.  This recipe is high in a variety of vitamins (especially A, E, K and Bs), minerals, and antioxidants meant to support strong immunity.  Whether you wish to stave off colds, flu, coughs, sniffles and other symptoms of distressed immunity this is an easy way to nourish your body.  And it tastes really good!

INGREDIENTS(for 2 servings)

2 cups purified cool water

2 cups your choice baby greens (spinach, lettuce, kale, microgreens, sprouts, etc.  Ideally organic)

1 Granny Smith apple.  Include the skin

1 large stalk celery with leaves.  Celery promotes healthy anti-inflammation, is high in antioxidants, supports heart health, digestive health, is high in fiber and is a natural diuretic)  Using celery in a smoothie is an easy way to enjoy its benefits because it isn’t so hard to digest.

1 Kiwi (great source of vitamin C).  If you don’t care for the kiwi substitute ½ banana and 2 slices fresh citrus)

1 Tbsp Cinnamon (supports digestion, blood sugar regulation and healthy anti-inflammation)

One scoop of ‘clean’ (no junkie chemical ingredients or sugar) pea protein (I like Biotics Research ® brand and can get that for you if you want) or grass fed collagen powder (I like Vital Proteins)

Optional:  ½ avocado and few drops Urban Moonshine Bitters.  The bitters support digestion.  Adding a squeeze of lemon is also supportive for digestion.

Wash your veggies; peel the kiwi, core the apple etc.  Chop the apple and celery and put all ingredients in a high speed blender or NutriBullet.  Blend until completely smooth.

Pour, Sip & Enjoy
